Ches & Sons Ltd is a proud family-run business built on trust, reliability, and a commitment to doing things properly. Founded and directed by husband and wife team Darren and Jen Chesworth, the company is very much a family affair. With their sons Aiden and Ollie playing an active role in the business… and Aiden’s partner Hannah, who might not technically be a Chesworth (yet cough cough Aiden!) but is very much part of the team.
Together, we bring a hands on approach to everything we do, combining years of experience with a personal touch. When you choose Ches & Sons, you’re choosing a local team who genuinely care about keeping your home or business safe, well-maintained, and compliant, because our family name is on every job we do.
Darren Chesworth - Director & Perfectionist-in-Chief.
With over 30 years of experience, Darren grew up learning the trade from his dad at the original ‘Ches & Son’ building company. When his dad sadly had to retire due to ill health, Darren was faced with the challenge of supporting a young family. He stepped away to gain valuable experience working for other companies, broadening his skills and perfecting his craft.
Years later, with his two sons by his side, Darren proudly revived the family name and founded Ches & Sons Ltd! A business built on the same values of quality, honesty, and hard work that he learned from his dad. Known for his deep knowledge and perfectionism, Darren makes sure every job is done to the highest possible standard.
Jen Chesworth - Director and The Powerhouse Behind the Scenes
Fierce, loyal, and endlessly dedicated, Jen is the woman who keeps everything running smoothly. Balancing her own full-time job alongside supporting the business, she’s the ultimate organiser and the team readily admits they couldn’t do it without her. Superwoman? Pretty much.
Aiden Chesworth - Electrician in Training & All Round Problem Solver
The eldest Chesworth son, Aiden originally joined the police to gain life experience but decided to leave when Ches and Sons began to thrive. With the business growing quickly, Aiden chose to step in and support his father, working alongside him to help build their family trade.
After working with Darren for several years, he is now completing his electrician’s apprenticeship and is well on his way to becoming a fully qualified electrician and opening a new branch of Ches & Sons! Practical, hard-working, and never afraid to get stuck in, Aiden brings fresh energy to the team (and enough muscle to lift things none of us can budge!).
Ollie Chesworth - Young Carpenter in the Making
The youngest of the Chesworth crew, Ollie is still in secondary school but already has a talent for woodwork that rivals the rest of the team.
In his spare time, you’ll find him building birdhouses, benches, and candle holders- and sometimes teaching Darren and Aiden a thing or two about carpentry!
Ollie is also absolutely tractor mad and dreams of doing a bit of farm contracting on the side (once he finally gets his hands on his first tractor, which he’s already saving for!). He can’t wait to leave school and officially join Ches & Sons full-time, bringing his big ideas, boundless energy, and maybe even a tractor or two along for the ride.
Hannah (nearly) Chesworth - Head of Safety, Security & Sanity.
Hannah Lister is leading the charge with Ches & Sons Fire and Security, bringing serious fire safety expertise wrapped in a friendly, approachable style. Before joining the family business, she spent two years as a fire safety engineer and seven years as a well-respected local police officer, so keeping people safe is second nature to her.
Known for always keeping her word, Hannah is great with people, the family’s resident tech support guru, and a firm believer that everything runs better with a strong cup of coffee (and a cat or two close by).
Her leadership is helping Ches & Sons Fire and Security grow while keeping the family’s trusted reputation front and centre.
